Fitness Update.

I had been doing pretty well with my workouts until we started traveling. Memorial weekend we went to Michigan, two weeks later we went to North Carolina and today we are going to Michigan for the weekend! I had fully planned on getting right back at it when we returned from North Caroline but my body had other plans!

Nick and I both got really sick the day we left Charlotte and I am still not completely over it. I am definitely nearing the end but this cold has really been bad! I think I should be 100% by the time we get back from Michigan on Sunday and will return to my daily workouts full force!

As you all know, I was doing The Biggest Loser: Cardio Max video daily before this brief hiatus. I enjoy the video and will continue to do it; however, I only want to do the video three days a week. I've decided I need to mix it up so I don't get bored. In addition to the video I am also going to run/walk two to three days a week.

I am so glad that this cold I have had for over two weeks now is finally going away and I can feel good about getting back to working out!

Throwback Thursdays.

I am going to start a weekly post for Thursdays called Throwback Thursday. In these posts you can expect to learn about my past endeavors.  I'm looking forward to these posts because it will allow me to relive some great times that may have otherwise been just memories saved in my mind and in my photo folder. I hope you are all looking forward to it as much as I am!

For my first Throwback Thursday (TBT) post, I'm going to share with you the first trip to Disney World that Nick and I took together. Since we live so close to Orlando and the theme parks we get free passes through work and frequent the parks a few time a year in the slower (and much colder) months.

This particular trip was in January 2009 and we went to Animal Kingdom. These were some of our first pictures together!
Since is was January the weather was really nice and a lot of the animals were out and roaming around. I love the safari ride because sometimes you can get really close to the animals and it makes for good pictures (even with my old camera). Here are some of the shots that I got.
We had a great time together and it was just the beginning of many more times we'd go and hang out at the parks!

Father's Day.

This post is really late but I've been fighting a horrible cold since we got back from North Carolina and I can't seem to shake it! Even though it was last weekend and we are already into this weekend, I want to tell you guys about Father's Day and how I spent it with my Dad.

Even though I wasn't feeling well, I bucked up and headed over to my Dad's house to spend the day with him. Once I got to my Dad's we drove over to their local donut shop, Donuts to go, and had the best donuts I have ever tried! They are seriously addicting.

After breakfast my Dad drove me out to see the house that he and my step-mom are buying. It is about 15-20 minutes north of where they are now, so it's further from us which stinks, but its a nice area and I really like the house. I can't wait for them to move in and make it their own.

Right now my Dad lives near a lake, so we picked up some worms and chicken liver, grabbed our fishing poles and walked down to the lake to do some fishing.
We were fishing for Catfish but didn't have any luck there. We caught three Speck though (my Dad caught two and I caught one).
We fished for a few hours, hoping that the rain would stay away. The weather actually turned out perfect because it was cloudy and breezy so we stayed cool the whole time. While we were out there this guy swam by. Once he noticed us on the shore, he stopped and hung around and watched us until we left (about an hour). He was pretty big! It's hard to tell in the pictures but he had to be somewhere between 10 and 15 feet long!
Once the storm clouds started to head our way, we packed up and walked back to my Dad's house to fillet the fish and get dinner started.
We had a great time! We both wanted to just hang out and spend some quality time together and it was perfect. I hope you all had a great Father's Day and got to celebrate with the wonderful Father's in your life.

High School Graduation.

We had a great time in Charlotte the past few days! If you follow me on Instagram, you will have already seen the pictures that will be on this post as I mostly took all the pictures from our trip on my phone. Anyways, we got in Wednesday night, were greeted at the hotel by my In-laws and hung out in there room for a few hours. We woke up to a beautiful view of the golf course...
Then we met for breakfast at the hotel restaurant and then headed to a local bar/restaurant to watch the Tigers game! After the Tigers won, we went to our cousin Mark's house to catch up with more of the Lombardi family. We had a great time seeing everyone and sharing some laughs with them!
Yesterday was Chris's (Mark's son) Open House. Barb and I headed over to a nail salon after breakfast to get mani/pedi's. I was in dire need of both and am so glad she took me for some much needed girl time!
Mark and Cynthia hosted a great party with a DJ and karaoke! The karaoke was a huge hit and a lot of fun to watch!! Nick's mom and dad had to leave earlier than us since their flight left early this morning, so we saw them off and then we stayed late into the night at the party. It was so great to see a lot of our family that we haven't gotten to see since our wedding!
Right now we are somewhere in Georgia on our way home. We're going to need tomorrow to recoup from these past few days of partying!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and safe travels if you have gone out of town to be with friends or family!

Road Trip.

Right now Nick and I are sitting in a Chrysler 200 on our way to Charlotte, North Carolina!
It is about an eight hour drive from our house so we should be making it to our hotel around 10pm. We're going up there for Nick's cousins graduation and will get to see a lot of the Lombardi family!

I figured I would probably be too busy to blog so I didn't even bring the laptop. I'll be posting a lot of pictures though on Instagram and Twitter, so follow me!

If I find time to post from my phone I will but if not, look for a recap of the trip on Sunday or Monday! Hope everyone has a fun and safe week and weekend!
