This post is really late but I've been fighting a horrible cold since we got back from North Carolina and I can't seem to shake it! Even though it was last weekend and we are already into this weekend, I want to tell you guys about Father's Day and how I spent it with my Dad.
Even though I wasn't feeling well, I bucked up and headed over to my Dad's house to spend the day with him. Once I got to my Dad's we drove over to their local donut shop, Donuts to go, and had the best donuts I have ever tried! They are seriously addicting.
After breakfast my Dad drove me out to see the house that he and my step-mom are buying. It is about 15-20 minutes north of where they are now, so it's further from us which stinks, but its a nice area and I really like the house. I can't wait for them to move in and make it their own.
Right now my Dad lives near a lake, so we picked up some worms and chicken liver, grabbed our fishing poles and walked down to the lake to do some fishing.
We were fishing for Catfish but didn't have any luck there. We caught three Speck though (my Dad caught two and I caught one).
We fished for a few hours, hoping that the rain would stay away. The weather actually turned out perfect because it was cloudy and breezy so we stayed cool the whole time. While we were out there this guy swam by. Once he noticed us on the shore, he stopped and hung around and watched us until we left (about an hour). He was pretty big! It's hard to tell in the pictures but he had to be somewhere between 10 and 15 feet long!
Once the storm clouds started to head our way, we packed up and walked back to my Dad's house to fillet the fish and get dinner started.
We had a great time! We both wanted to just hang out and spend some quality time together and it was perfect. I hope you all had a great Father's Day and got to celebrate with the wonderful Father's in your life.
Sounds like a great father's day to me!
ReplyDeleteAs a very blessed father, I can't even begin to describe how wonderful this past Father's Day was. I can't thank Beth enough for working through her cold and spending an incredible day with me. It was truly what being a Father is all about. Thank you Beth. I Love You!
